Joseph Jarman – As If It Were The Seasons
Delmark DD 417 (1996)
Compact Disc
After illness removed Christopher Gaddy from Joseph Jarman’s quartet, Joseph carried on with the exciting rhythm team of Charles Clark and Thurman Barker. For concerts Joseph frequently invited guests as demonstrated by the addition of Sherri Scott for the first pieces in this collection. Gaddy’s death prompted Joseph’s composition Song For Christopher, based on incomplete notations by the pianist. Joseph invited an additional six guests to realize the music for this recording.
