BOB STROGER first pitch, Delmark All-Stars perform, Landmark/Delmark Record Store, and Cubs / Delmark All-Stars 45!
BOB STROGER’S FIRST PITCH AT WRIGLEY FIELD April 5th, 2025:
The Delmark All-Stars and the Delmark label managers were with Bob for this historic occasion. The Cubs used a special blues jersey, had the Delmark All-Stars performing before and after the game, offered Delmark blues vinyl at their Landmark store, featured Mike Wheeler’s band at a private event, and Wayne Baker Brooks also performed (at the store) and sang the national anthem before the game. The Cubs premiered a brand-new video paying tribute to Chicago blues. A bold initiative from the Cubs and a great partnership between the Cubs and Delmark Records. 94-year-old Bob Stroger will be inducted to the Blues Hall of Fame, May 7th in Memphis.
The Cubs made a special Chicago Blues Open Video (on screen when the players enter the field) which will play each game that the baby blue jerseys are worn. The video features music from the Delmark All Stars upcoming single “Sweet Home Chicago”, the Sweet Home remix by BBQJr (Johnny Iguana & JQ), and A/V remix elements by the Cubs, as well as video of the Mike Wheeler Band at Blue Chicago.
