Pianist extraordinaire Johnny Iguana is the cover feature interview in the acclaimed publication, BLUES BLAST! Thank you, Bob Kieser and Mark Thompson for this candid and revelatory interview with the one and only Johnny Iguana. Johnny talks about his entire career, including his influences, how he got his nickname, playing with the legendary Junior Wells, and his new Delmark album, Chicago Spectacular!
“It wasn’t just that it was a cool gig and we traveled the world. Junior was my guy! He was the one that swept me into the music. We played every song off of Hoodoo Man Blues plus half of the songs off Southside Blues Jam, another classic album on the Delmark label. I had Junior’s phone number in my Rolodex. It was a very meaningful gig for me in particular.”
