Jimmy Johnson, Dave Specter, Johnny Burgin, Guy King, Demetria Taylor + Mike Wheeler, Linsey Alexander, and Breezy Rodio, plus a winter 2019 blues release from Willie Buck!
-The elder of the Chicago blues scene, 90-years-young JIMMY JOHNSON opens this list with a studio recording which includes several originals, two different bands and some solo tracks.
-DAVE SPECTER, follows with his 12th Delmark album, featuring “Jefferson Airplane” and “Hot Tuna” member Jorma Kaukonen as a very special guest.
-JOHNNY BURGIN, a.k.a.“Rockin’ Johnny”, will be presenting an electrifying live recording featuring blues harmonica superstar Charlie Musselwhite and singer Rae Gordon.
-Rising star GUY KING expands his sound to a full R&B-style band with string section in an explosive mix of songwriting and guitar playing.
-Historically, Delmark Records has been at the forefront when it comes to introducing and supporting female artists. DEMETRIA TAYLOR, daughter and sister of other great blues musicians, will appear in her own second CD on Delmark. Another rising star, Chicago’s own Mike Wheeler, will also be a part of this album.
-“Live at Rosa’s” will feature a favorite of Chicago’s audiences, the robust singer and guitar player LINSEY ALEXANDER, represented at his best: on stage in front of a roaring audience.
-BREEZY RODIO brings a different flavor to Delmark’s catalogue with his mix of shuffle, contemporary blues and rockabilly filtered through his skills as a songwriter, singer and guitar player.
-WILLIE BUCK, a stalwart of the Chicago Blues tradition, even has a street with his name in Chicago: Willie Buck Way, which is, precisely the title of his newest delightful release for Delmark Records.
The latest Jimmy Johnson release, Every Day Of Your Life, is fantastic. Thanks SO much for this release.
