This is George Freeman’s first album as a leader, and it’s been a long time coming. George and his brother, tenor saxophonist Von, have been on the jazz scene since the late forties, George established himself around Chicago and was called to play with most of the major jazz artists who came to town without a band, artists such as Lester Young and Charlie Parker.
