Led by harmonica master and songwriter Pierre Lacocque, Mississippi Heat is a world-class Chicago Blues Band. Their motto is “Traditional Blues With A Unique Sound” as they present fresh yet vintage-based musical ideas.
MISSISSIPPI HEAT’s name is a reflection of Pierre’s reverence for Mississippi’s blues culture and music. The band’s conviction is that there is no deeper music than Delta-inspired blues to express what lies in everyone’s soul. They have received world-wide critical acclaim, including from Living Blues Magazine: “MISSISSIPPI HEAT delivers its traditional urban blues with a freshness, energy and competence that makes them a treasure on today’s Chicago scene.”

“[Mississippi Heat] is proving once again why they’re at the forefront of the music in the Windy City. Madeleine should bring Mississippi Heat major awards when all’s said and done. It’s an outstanding collection of contemporary blues.”
–Marty Gunther
Blues Blast Magazine
“This is by far the best blues record I’ve heard this year to date.”
–Art Schuna
Host of Two for the Blues, WORT-FM, Madison, WI
“It’s the thirteenth time around for Mississippi Heat and we are all in luck with the special delivery of Madeleine, one of the band’s best and most personal efforts.”
–Greg Easterling
Chicago Blues Guide
“[Madeleine] is a rich, colorful and varied music, warm and full of passion. The formation as usual gives off a fabulous energy, it’s a real festival of intensity and feeling with luminous guitar solos, a flamboyant harmonica, fiery brass and vocals to match. Such a meeting of talents takes the listener to new heights.
There is a magic spark that occurs.”
