Located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksdale, MS, deep in the Mississippi Delta, we are a stone’s throw from the Delta Blues Museum, Ground Zero Blues Club, The New Roxy, Red’s Juke Joint, Travelers Hotel, and Hambone Gallery.  Hooker Grocer + Eatery is a restaurant and bar serving southern classics with an upscaled casual twist.

Hooker Grocer is named after Clarksdale’s own John Lee Hooker, as we are located on John Lee Hooker Ln.  Our lil shack has a story in itself. Once a commissary, feed & seed store on a plantation in Webb, MS. It was moved to Clarksdale, MS in its current location in 2005 where it served as a Bed & Breakfast, then artist live work space. Hooker Grocer was opened in November, 2018. 

Clarksdale is considered the “Birthplace of the Blues” with live music 365 days a year. We contribute with live music on our small intimate stage area several nights a week. Our outside courtyard will hosts full bands on weekends and during festival season. We thrive in celebrating the music and rich cultural history of Clarksdale.

If you are interested in renting our lil shack for a private event, we can do that. If you’d like us to cater for your event, we can do that too.
