The legendary BOB STROGER and the Delmark All-Star Band will be on the mound to throw out the first pitch after the Band’s performance in Gallagher Way, featuring Carlise Guy.  Bob Stroger will also be honored for his upcoming induction into the Blues Hall of Fame. On the mound, the Delmark All-Stars joining Bob Stroger are Carlise Guy, Mike Wheeler, Dave Specter, Roosevelt Purifoy, Larry Williams & Pooky Styx.  Wayne Baker Brooks will perform the National anthem and the 7th inning stretch.
The Cubs are presenting their flannel to the first 10,000 fans on arrival. The new uniform pays tribute to the team’s history and Chicago’s contribution to the electric blues movement that shaped music worldwide. To celebrate the occasion, the Cubs are opening a retail experience at Gallagher Way called “Landmark Records” that pays homage to Wrigley Field’s federal landmark status and is a nod to the neighborhood record shops found across Chicago. Inside Landmark Records, Cubs fans can find the new Blues Alternate jersey, hats and merchandise as well as a limited run of music-inspired merchandise, including Delmark LPs, that celebrates Wrigley Field’s status as a world-class music venue. On select dates throughout the regular season, Cubs fans can also attend various live performances at Landmark Records and on Gallagher Way.
“The baby blues are back. We’re thrilled to revisit this popular colorway, while also paying tribute to the Blues music that has shaped our city’s cultural landscape,” said Jennifer Martindale, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Cubs. “This uniform is more than a celebration of the Cubs past; it’s a nod to an iconic Chicago artform. We hope fans enjoy this unique blend of sports and music history.” The jersey’s chest patch combines details from early Cubs uniforms with typography inspired by blues-era instruments. The sleeve patch features custom lettering within a guitar pick, split by an electric bolt, representing Chicago’s legacy as the birthplace of the electric blues. The custom numerals and nameplate take cues from early generation Cubs designs and decorative flourishes from blues-era typography. The socks reference the beloved blues anthem “Sweet Home Chicago,” accompanied by a six-string guitar stripe.
