Hot House Rag was recorded in January, 1971 at Diebel’s Bier Stube (Columbus, OH) where traditional jazz pianist Terry Waldo had been playing several nights a week for a few years. Waldo had worked with Gene Mayl’s Dixieland Rhythm Kings, Turk Murphy and Ted Shafer prior to starting his own band. Formed in 1970, Waldo’s Gutbucket Syncopators have recorded for GHB, Stomp Off and on this album which contains 5 bonus tracks, 13 songs in all, at 65 minutes. With Roy Tate, Jim Snyder, Frank Powers, Bob Sundstrom, Mike Walbridge and Wayne Jones, members of The Original Salty Dogs.
