Featuring tracks by:

Sidney Bechet, Muggsy Spanier, Don Ewell, Doc Evans, Miff Mole , Bill & Ruth Reinhardt

Owned and operated by Bill and Ruth Reinhardt, Jazz Ltd. was a Chicago jazz club from 1947 into the early '70s. These 1949 and '51 recordings feature some of the greatest names in traditional jazz. Sidney Bechet was just a few months away from leaving for France. Check out the wonderful lyrical trumpet of a neglected great in jazz, Doc Evans, and the powerfully swinging solo and ensemble trombone of Miff Mole. Cornetist Muggsy Spanier was back home in Chicago and Don Ewell has long been recognized as one of the best piano players in traditional jazz, "...pure swinging Dixieland jazz played by the pros" -JazzTimes. Contains a fascinating interview with Bill and Ruth.
